The sixth meeting of the GCBI was held at ITU Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, from 27-28 February 2018. 

The meeting reviewed the strategic capacity building developments that have taken place since the last meeting of the group, held on 8-9 February 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland. Of particular importance, the meeting discussed the capacity building-related outcomes of the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-17) and provided guidance on the implementation of the recommendations. It also discussed the review of the Centres of Excellence programme in view of the next four-year cycle, and provided input to the preparations of Global ICT Capacity Building Symposium (CBS) 2018. The meeting formed the basis for the Group¡¯s input and report to the 23rd Telecommunications Development Advisory Group (TDAG).
